England's GM Michael Adams won the 1st Metropolitan International chess tournament on Sunday, August 21st, 2011, in Los Angeles, finishing clear first a full point ahead of the field. Adams claims 5000 USD prize and Swarovsky trophy. Loek Van Wely and Timur Gareev share the second place with 6.5 points each.
